The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Title Sequence

The aesthetic of the idents should lend themselves strongly to the completely original style that was created for the Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns.

For the Good the Bad and the Ugly there is a fantastic example of it.

Top 10 Title Sequences

What’s In A Title Sequence

The main-title sequence of a film has become a form of art all to its own. The medium is shorter and in some ways harder to master. Titles are short introductions and closings to films and television shows that list the names of the cast and crew involved in the production. The craft has evolved from merely listing credits to capturing the essence of the film. Creating a distillation of the story by combining both graphic wit and cinematic prowess that honor the intentions of the filmmaker.

Spaghetti Western Trailers

The wonderful thing about these trailers is their absolute solid iconic feel.

The deep voice that does all of the trailers with such clearly written speech and music from Ennio Morrecone ties the genre together seamlessly, maybe with the exception of 'A Fist Full of Dynamite', which to be honest was pretty awful.

The Graphics of these old trailers have some good elements. Monotone photographs of iconic scenes and characters. They are used in such a way that it would be possible to re-create the feel of the genre quite simply in a program such as After Effects.

Key elements to consider:

The Cigar
The 6 Shooter
The Hat
The Poncho
The Boots
The Speech
The Music
The Railroad
The Silence
